Coronavirus Update For Students
Coronavirus Update
The current situation with the Coronavirus COVID-19 is obviously very serious for us all. I am taking every precaution to keep everyone safe. Regular washing of hands and sanitising is paramount for us all. There will be hand sanitiser here as long as I can supply this. At this moment in time I do have hand sanitiser. I will update / edit this page as things develop.
Over the next few weeks the only change to lessons will be that I will not be tuning your guitar and asking students to tune their own guitar. I know most of you are capable of doing this. You will be talked through this process if you are unsure on how to do this. It is not difficult and should pose no problems. This will help limit any contact. If you need any further advice on The Coronavirus please click here to be taken to the government website.
I will continue working until government guidelines state otherwise.
If any of you are feeling unwell, high temperature, continual cough etc could you please reschedule your lessons for a later date. There will be no cancellation fee at this point in time.
Thank You
I have recently increased my prices please see the link However as gigs have been cancelled and schools closed so as a thank you and token of my appreciation for your continued support over this period my current students will NOT face any price increase now or, in the foreseeable future. I will try to send a link to this page to all of my students and hope to see you all over the coming weeks.
Exams
Trinity college rock and pop exams have been postponed until further notice due to the coronavirus. Students working towards these exams, that have had exams postponed. Will now start working towards their next grade, until I have received new dates. Below is the E-Mail I received from Alyson the Trinity College Representative. I have sent this to all the students and will let you know new dates as soon as I have them.
Dear everyone,
Further to my email yesterday evening, I can now confirm that Trinity have postponed ALL their exam sessions between 18th March and (at least) 30th April, so no exams will be taking place at Wolverhampton Music School on 19th-20th March (Rock & Pop) or 23rd March (Classical).
Trinity intend to offer alternative dates for those already booked for this session, at no further cost, but I am waiting to hear details of these and will keep you posted.
Please do not travel to the music School on the above dates! Please make sure that your pupils are aware of this change!
Stay well, and take care,
Best wishes, Alyson
London College of music exams can go ahead as normal. These are submitted by video uploads. Unfortunately I can not give any information on how long it will take for results to come back under the current circumstances.
School’s Out
As directed by the government all schools are now closed until further notice. Anyone who has paid me money for the term will have the money deducted from next term! This includes St Johns First School Bishops Wood, Brewood CE Middle Academy and also St Michael’s CE(A) First School Penkridge.
Alternatively parents of students at these schools may want to contact me for private lessons. My home lessons are one to one and a parent can sit in with their child during their lesson. I am however limiting this to one child one parent at any time to minimize any risk of infection.
Finally
I will be back to giving guitar lessons after taking a weeks holiday Tuesday 24th March. Hopefully this all makes sense to everyone involved. I felt it would be easier to keep the information on my website rather than have to text everyone the same message individually.
There may also be an option to do lessons through FaceTime or WhatsApp. I will need to trial how successful this will be. Please keep checking this page for updates as we try to get through these challenging times ahead.
Schools are now closed so I will have more daytime availability if people would rather have their lesson in the daytime. Any concerns please don’t hesitate to give me a call or text on 07803 608156
UPDATE SUNDAY 22nd March
Online guitar lessons are now available. Should you choose to have online lessons I have made this as simple as possible. An Email will be sent that will give you all the information you need. This should work on any smartphone, I pad, computer, laptop, tablet etc.
There will be a link sent via EMail with a password. Simply click the link and enter the password. The whole process to set up should take no longer than a few minutes. Payment can be via BACS or if you prefer to still pay cash or cheque by posting it through the door.
UPDATE Tuesday 24th March
Following government guidelines announced Monday 23rd March. I will not be teaching from my home studio. All lessons will now take place online. It is the best and safest way for all of us please click here to see more details.
UPDATE Saturday 28th March
I hope you are all staying safe and well. I went live with online guitar lessons on Thursday 26th March. The feedback I have had from these lessons so far has been very positive. I am still working on a few things to make this even better and will continue to do so over the weekend.
At the moment I have 3 cameras setup in order for you to see my guitar from different angles. I can also send files straight over to your computer or device, as well as giving you access to view my computer screen so you can and see and hear my computer. If anyone would like to give this a trial run who has not already had a lesson, please give me a call over the weekend or Monday and we can check it is all working your side.
Finally I would just like to thank each and everyone of you who have chosen to continue with guitar lessons online while we are in the situation we have found ourselves in.
Stay safe and see you online

UPDATE Saturday 28th August 2021
Nearly time, and I hope every one is well . I will be inviting some people back for face to face lessons this week. I will be doing this in a staggered process. The first students back will be students who have been fully vaccinated and have 8pm lessons. This will avoid students having to walk through the house as the salon is normally closed by that time.
Could I ask students to wait in the car until there lesson time. I will then come out and show them in. Could I ask as we come through the salon that you please wear a mask and also sanitize your hands before entering the studio. There will be a sneeze screen between us in the studio. Windows will be left open to aid ventilation. I will endeavour to make this as safe as possible for all concerned.
