A J Green UK New Album Before The End

A J Green will release his first ever studio album Before The End early 2023. This has been recorded at M2 Studios with Mark Stuart. Mark has worked with many bands including Magnum, Diamond Head, Thunder and Jim Lea from Slade to mention just a few. This is something A J has wanted to do for many years and having worked with Mark with other bands he knew Mark would be the right person to work with.

Who Is Playing On The Album Before The End?

A J Green is playing all instruments apart from drums.

Drums

Martin Dolman the drummer from Kick Up The 80’s A J has worked with Martin for many years and continues to do so in Kick Up the 80’s. Martin was also part of his first band Razor Edge. They both did their first gig together back in 1985.

Vocals

A J has worked with a few vocalists on this album as well as taking vocal duties himself. Andrew Perry (Fez) is taking lead vocals and backing vocals on some of the tracks. Former Full Confession vocalist a band A J played in back in the early 90’s. A J knew Andrew could do what was required and also bring some ideas to the table too.

After a long search for a female vocalist Mark suggested Zoe Green from The Zoe Green Band. Zoe was booked into the studio for 27th November 2022 to sing backing vocals. Zoe has an amazing voice this really brings the album to life. It’s worth checking out the title track of the album to hear the power of Zoe’s voice.

Rebecca Downes also sings on the track Dirty Tricks. Rebecca is an award winning powerful Blues Rock Vocalist. Who has also caught the ear of Joe Bonamassa. Rebecca has an amazing blues / rock voice that suits the track so well.

Piano

Rick Benton from Magnum plays piano on See You On The Other Side. Rick has First Class Honours degree and Licentiate Diploma in Music. Touring extensively throughout Europe and the USA with a number of bands he has had the honour of supporting a diverse range of artists including The Eagles, Status Quo, John Mayer, Paul Young, Spyro Gyra, Shaggy, Kim Wide and Skindred. Highlights have included performances at Sonisphere, The Sziget Festival, Chicago House of Blues, Irving Plaza NY, Johannesburg’s Mandela Theatre and many other iconic venues and locations worldwide. 

First Single

The first single to be released off the album will be Before The End. This has Andrew Perry and Zoe Green on lead vocals. A J wanted to use the power and emotion of the human voice on this track instead of a guitar solo. This part of the track Zoe was tasked to layer a vocal melody that A J had worked out on guitar. There is already a breath taking video to go along with this track. this will be released after the track.
