FIFINE K6 Dynamic Microphone Review
FIFINE K6 Dynamic Microphone Review
I was recently sent a FIFINE K6 Dynamic Microphone to review. As with almost all dynamic microphones it has a cardioid polar response pattern. This means that the microphone is more sensitive at the front. This isolates sound coming from the back of it and will give more resistance to feedback. This makes the microphone ideal for use on stage or in a loud environment. You do have to be close to this microphone for it to pick up your voice. That is way it is designed.
FIFINE K6 In Use
We tested this microphone in soundcheck in a band situation with a full P.A. The microphone sounded loud and clear and as previously stated, you have to be up close to it for it to pick up any sound. I also found the microphone to have a good low end response. This though would be down to personal preference on what you like to hear, and how suited it would be to your voice. We tested this against a Shure 58A Beta which is known as the industry standard for vocal microphones. The K6 was certainly not out of its league against the much more expensive 58A Beta. The big difference was that the Beta picked up your voice from a little further away. It also had more top end. The top end is sometimes needed to cut through a stage mix. Although this is again down to personal preference.
Value For Money
When it comes down to value for money the K 6 wins hands down. You can pick one of these up from Amazon for an amazing £19.99, Here is a link. The Shure 58A Beta will cost around £185.00 there are known to be many cheap copies of the Shure Microphone. So please be careful if yo decide to buy one of these, buy from somewhere reputable. Here is a link. The K6 also comes with a 2 year warranty and a 14.8 ft XLR to 1/4 inch jack plug.
Conclusion
The K6 would be hard to beat for a relatively cheap microphone. For anyone on a tight budget you owe it to yourself to have a look at this microphone. You will not be disappointed. The microphone is sturdy and well built and also has a on /off switch on the side. It could be used for live performances and even Karaoke. I have not seen a better microphone in this price range. I have also done a quick video review in my home studio you can see by clicking here
Pretty tight review. If I have to make choice from these two, I just can make the decision right after you article. Thanks!
